Three decades of unrivalled dCS excellence in one superlative sounding, exquisitely finished, limited-edition box…
Thirty years ago, Data Conversion Systems began a long and memorable journey. It would take the company from designing world-beating aerospace technology, to manufacturing the very finest digital source components ever made. The flagship Vivaldi series encapsulates all the collective knowledge and experience amassed over these three decades, and delivers breathtaking sound from practically any digital music format and origin.
To celebrate this most special of anniversaries, dCS has created the limited-edition Vivaldi One. This brings together most of the functionality of the redoubtable four-piece Vivaldi system, into a single, beautiful case that is offered in a choice of three breathtaking finishes. Despite its exquisite appearance, no compromise whatsoever has been made to the sound quality of what is surely the world’s best ever one-box digital source component.
At the heart of Vivaldi One are ‘next generation’ versions of the unique dCS Ring DAC board, Digital Processing Platform and Clocking System. Together, these offer exceptional linearity and ultra-low distortion. Ring DAC 2.0 has lower jitter, greater dynamic range and superior channel separation, for an even more vibrant and musical sound. This is done by FPGA chips which are custom-coded by dCS, and firmware-upgradeable long into the future.
Vivaldi One sports the finest VRDS Neo™ SACD-capable transport, network streaming and DAC functionality across a vast range of inputs. Digital volume control gives direct connection to a power amplifier, removing the need for a preamp. Its aerospace-grade aluminium casework comes in a choice of three exquisite finishes – glass-smooth Gloss White and Piano Black versions finished by HQ Lacquer, or striking 24-carat gold plate by the world-renowned FH Lambert Ltd.
dCS have finalised arrangements with neighbouring MQA (also based in Cambridgeshire) to add MQA compatibility to “all current product ranges”, including streamers. The firmware updates will roll out as follows:
dCS Rossini – October 2017
dCS Vivaldi One – November 2017
dCS Network Bridge – November 2017
dCS Vivaldi DAC & Upsampler – December 2017
